The 20th eQuinoxe Europe Intl. Screenwriter’s Workshop returns to the majestic Sognefjord in Western Norway, to celebrate its 20th workshop. Screenwriters and experts - BAFTA-winners and Oscar-nominees - from Australia, UK, France, India, Germany, Switzerland, Bosnia Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Austria and Finland will meet for a one-week creative exchange at the historic Kviknes Hotel in Balestrand.
Western Norway Film Commission hosted a spectacular location tour in early May, just days before the spring blossoming. The tour encompassed fjord, mountain, village and glacier locations in the areas of Sunnfjord, Nordfjord, Sunnmøre and Romsdal, making the most out of the 48 hours available for the scout.

Norwegian psychodrama The Doll in the Ceiling (original title Dukken i taket) marks the feature debut of Kjersti G Steinsbø, and starts principal photography with DOP Anna Myking on September 15 in the beautiful village of Fjærland in the midst of the majestic Fjærlandsfjord.
Fjærland Glacier Museum is one of the most notable buildings by the Norwegian architect Sverre Fehn, and is majestically situated in Fjærland with views to its many glaciers; Bøyabreen, Suphellebreen and others. Sverre Fehn won both the Pritzker Architecture Prize and the Heinrich Tessenow Gold Medal for the Glacier Museum.
Principal photography has begun on the artificial intelligence thriller, written and directed by Alex Garland, Ex Machina is produced by DNA’s Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich with Scott Rudin and Eli Bush and Film4’s Tessa Ross as executive producers. Filming will take place at Pinewood Studios in London and on location in Western Norway in the areas of Norddal and Luster.
