Western Norway Film Commission launches a new location showreel showcasing the magnificent diversity of regional filming locations.
Western Norway Film Commission hosted a spectacular location tour in early May, just days before the spring blossoming. The tour encompassed fjord, mountain, village and glacier locations in the areas of Sunnfjord, Nordfjord, Sunnmøre and Romsdal, making the most out of the 48 hours available for the scout.
The film commission has been out of office location scouting at Finse the last few days. Finse has previously doubled for the North Pole, the South Pole, the Northwest Passage and Siberia, and famously for the ice planet Hoth in Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back. Star Wars used the Finse lake, the glacier and its surroundings for some climactic action scenes - arguably some of the Star Wars series' most memorable sequences.
