Nominated as Europe's Best Film Location

Valldalen and Juvet Landscape Hotel are among the finalists competing for the Best European Film Location Award. The competition is organized by Filming Europe for its tenth anniversary, and the finalists are selected by a group of Cineuropa film critics and experts. The winner will be announced at the European Parliament in Brussels on November 7th.

Juvet Landscape Hotel was catapulted to global fame as the main setting for the 2015 Academy Award winning sci-fi thriller Ex Machina. Situated in the Valldalen Valley, Juvet is designed by the architects Jensen & Skodvin. In their design, they envisioned a landscape hotel that would blend in with the natural environment. The result is a collection of modern glass wall cubes, offering a striking view of the valley, the river, the dramatic gorge and surrounding mountains.
