Ex Machina is the directorial debut of Alex Garland and stars Domnhall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac and Alicia Vikander. The film focuses on the relationship between humans and artificial intelligence, as a young programmer is put into an experiment by evaluating the human traits of an A.I. female.
The exteriors for Ex Machina was shot in Norddal, Valldal and Luster in Western Norway, with key scenes taking place at the spectacular Juvet Landscape Hotel.
The film hits UK theaters in January, and is released worldwide by Universal. Ex Machina is produced by Andrew MacDonald and Allon Reich for DNA Films, with EP Scott Rudin.
