WNFC Hosts Film Conference in London

Western Norway Film Commission invited the UK film community to the Film Norway Conference at Kings Place in London on Tuesday November 18th. The well-attended conference drew around 100 participants from London and Western Norway, welcoming UK based producers, directors, scriptwriters and location managers to learn more about shooting in Norway.

In recent years, Western Norway has witnessed the establishment of two new film funds, an increase in production companies and an increase in international co-productions and line productions. The Film Norway Conference was focused on the support and aid systems in UK and Norway, and included presentations by UK Film Council, Film London, Grant Thornton, Pinewood Group, Ascent 142 and Molinare, as well as Film Fund Fuzz, Filmkraft Rogaland, Norwegian Film Institute and Norwegian Film Commission.

Sigmund Elias Holm, project manager of Western Norway Film Commission, remarks: "The aim of the Film Norway Conference was to inform everyone of the reality of audiovisual production in UK and Norway, and to look for possible synergies in the development of new productions. I am confident that we will see an increase in future cross-border co-development and co-production. The timing was right to create an international meeting place for our producers."
