Scouting Support
Support scheme for location scouting and production meetings.
Project Criteria
Western Norway Film Commission provides scouting support to selected international filmmakers. Production companies of foreign feature films and TV drama planning to shoot in Western Norway are eligible to apply for their principal production staff (director, assistant director, producer, director of photography, cinematographer, production designer, or location manager). To qualify, candidates must fulfill certain basic conditions, and have a serious, large-scale production in preparation.
The scouting package may include:
Round-trip airline tickets for max two people (normally economy class only)
Accommodation and boarding during location scouting (normally up to four nights)
Meetings with local line production partners or potential co-producers
Services of a local location coordinator (normally up to three days)
Local transportation
Selection Criteria
Projects will be selected based on the potential economic impact of the production, and based on the estimated image branding that the film is expected to provide Western Norway: The better a film shows Western Norway as a recognizable location, the better the chances are of obtaining scouting support.
